Darren Arrowsmith, MBA, CFA
Darren is responsible for high-yield bond, convertible bond and leveraged-loan assets. Prior to joining CI Global Asset Management in 2012, Darren was a portfolio manager with Stanton Asset Management, where he assisted with the management of global high-yield bonds and leveraged loans across numerous funds. Prior to this, he worked at GE Capital in London, England, within its leveraged finance team as a credit analyst and trader. He began his career in 1999 on the Scotia Capital Markets fixed income team. Darren obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Western Ontario and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Edinburgh Management School. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Brad Benson, MSc
Brad started in the investment industry in 1998. His responsibilities are focused on high-yield bonds, convertible bonds and leveraged loan assets. Prior to joining CI Global Asset Management in 2007, Brad worked at CPP Investment Board in the principal investing group. He also held positions at Vision Capital in London, England, as part of the private equity team, and at RBC Capital Markets in the mergers and acquisitions department. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Honors Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario and a Master of Science in Finance from London Business School.
Fernanda Fenton, MBA, CFA
Fernanda specializes in emerging markets fixed-income products with 10 years of experience in this sector. Prior to joining CI Global Asset Management in 2014, she was Associate Portfolio Manager at Sentry Investment Management (formerly Sentry Investments), and prior to that, spent six years in Latin American debt-capital markets and investment banking at Credit Suisse in New York. Fernanda holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of California at Berkeley and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) in Mexico City. Fernanda is associated with CI Global Investments Inc., a firm registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and an affiliate of CI Global Asset Management.
Lee Goldman, MBA, CFA
Lee is a portfolio manager with a successful long-term track record of managing real estate assets. He joined CI Global Asset Management in 2018 following 12 years as a lead manager at the former First Asset Investment Management Inc. Lee holds a Bachelor of Science (Statistics) degree from the University of Western Ontario and a Master of Business Administration (Finance) degree from York University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Paul Marcogliese, CFA
Paul is responsible for managing and co-managing a number of our fixed income funds. His career in the investment industry began in 1999 and he joined CI Global Asset Management in 2016. Prior to this, Paul worked as a Portfolio Manager at MFS Investment Management Canada managing Canadian and international fixed-income portfolios. Prior to that, he was a Partner and Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at McLean Budden Asset Management. Paul holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University, and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Geof Marshall, CFA
Geof manages fixed income and high yield assets and has extensive experience analyzing, managing and trading corporate bonds, leveraged loans and private credit. He joined CI Global Asset Management in 2006 from Manulife Financial, where he was a portfolio manager. Geof holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He is a member of the Finance and Investment Committee at the Royal Ontario Museum.
Leanne Ongaro, CFA
Leanne has six years of investment industry experience and focuses on investment-grade fixed income. She joined CI Global Asset Management in 2004 as a member of the client services team. From there she advanced to a position on the product development side of the business prior to joining the portfolio management team in August of 2007. Leanne holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
John Shaw, CFA
John started in the investment industry in 1990. He has experience in international credit analysis, trading and portfolio management. John’s responsibilities are focused on corporate bonds and preferred shares. Prior to joining CI Global Asset Management in 2004, he worked at Canada Life Assurance for 13 years, most recently as a US corporate bond trader. John holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Queen’s University and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
James Dutkiewicz, CFA
James joined CI Global Asset Management in 2012 and is an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience analyzing and managing bonds. James continues to lead the fixed-income components of many of CI’s key mandates, while providing leadership on the asset allocation strategy and oversight to the investment team. James graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
